¡El Espectacular! Concert at the Reser
We invite you to join us for an evening showcasing Orchestra Nova Northwest’s progressive and innovative programming: El Espectacular! on January 24 at The Reser.
This high-energy, joyful event will feature festive and expressive works by Freddy Vilches and other acclaimed Latin American composers, weaving together diverse musical traditions from across the Americas. El Espectacular! honors cultural identity and creative innovation through rhythm, color, and connection, promising an unforgettable experience.
Spotlighting diverse musical voices, the program includes several exceptional features:
– A new flute concerto by Portland-based composer Giancarlo D’Addona Castro, written for and performed by ONN Executive Director and celebrated flutist Adam Eccleston.
– A fusion of music and dance featuring the modernity of Bodyvoxx’s choreography coupled with classical orchestral music.
– Performances by Cognizart’s Young Artists Debut! Winners, including the taiko ensemble featuring Jin Nakajim and Calvin Stuczynski performing with composer Yumi Torimaru, Director of Takohachi. Young Artists Debut! Winner Nikita Itstratov will also perform a spellbinding Prokofiev piece with the orchestra.
