Eri Ishigaki

Eri Ishigaki is an accomplished violinist and music instructor with over 20 years of experience as a soloist, chamber musician, studio artist, and orchestral performer across Japan and the United States.

Originally from Kanagawa, Japan, she earned her Bachelor’s degree from the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo and a Master of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under Alexander Barantschik, Concertmaster of the San Francisco Symphony. She was awarded full scholarships to participate in prestigious festivals, including the Kusatsu International Summer Music Academy and the Graz Music Festival in Austria.

Mrs. Ishigaki has appeared as a featured concerto soloist and performed with numerous West Coast ensembles, including the Pacific Chamber Orchestra, Ensemble Monterey Chamber Orchestra, West Edge Opera, Fremont Symphony, California Pops Orchestra, and Santa Cruz Symphony.

Dedicated to music education, she has taught string classes at Cabrillo College. Her pedagogical approach integrates the Havas Method, providing early childhood instruction designed to cultivate sound technique naturally and comfortably for young students starting as early as age three. Currently based in Portland, Oregon and Japan, she balances private teaching and active performances alongside motherhood.
